He is out of the closet….

He has been in our family for years…………
Didn’t seem as if he had even aged a day since I last lovingly stored him away to await the next fall season I could bring him out……….

He needed a tad bit of freshening this year…….but once again he is ready to greet our fall guests…….

Our little buddy, “Scarecrow”……..

These pictures I found were four years ago and “Scarecrow” was only two years old then…
How they have changed!!!!!

“Scarecrow” had a little hat issue that for some reason I decided to overlook and have my children pose next to anyway…..

Where did my little boy go??!!!

I will capture these memories again as I make my children pose unwillingly next to our little buddy this year.

They will grudgingly oblige but I see in them the desire for these traditions. Ones I might even have thought they wouldn’t have missed.

A dusty, inexpensive, “scarecrow” but priceless to helping us start this new season of fall and new season in our lives………

I am seeing the “comfort” the normalcy of traditions bring. They assist us in welcoming the new writing that has started etching itself into our seasons this year with the “safe” feel of normalcy.

Little traditions……….seemingly unimportant……..but vital.

What small traditions do you enjoy as you welcome in fall?

Would love to hear about them……read about them…..and I challenge you all to make sure that in the midst of our busy lives…….

We stop and carry out the traditions that we have all treasured.

My favorite Fall family tradition is gong camping. Here in Texas it is so hot and so summer camping is few and far between. We can hardly wait for Fall to roll around so we can go camping. There is nothing better that sitting around a warm fire on a cool night (of course wearing my favorite hoodie) just hanging out with the family. We enjoy cooking s’mores, reading, listening to the night, and catching up on what we each have been doing. When we are camping we all seem to slow down and refocus on what is important, our family.
