Uhhhhhhh……what?

So the other day I posted about Kendra’s awesome blog.

Creative Ambitions

She was so gracious and sweet when she saw my inspiration brought on by her unreal creations.
I’m always relieved when a blogger “get’s” my humor.
Actually, I’m relieved when anyone get’s my humor.
I am loving how blogs can reach out so far…….and I knew if I reached far enough, that maybe….just maybe…before I reached another galaxy…that one day, I would find more people who “get” my humor.
Or people who can fake that they do.
Either way….I’ll take it.
So after that post, Kendra emailed me the other day. probably right after she reported me to the DIY harassment authorities………..
She was like:

Hey Rebecca… do you have a blog button… I looked but did not see it…  I was going to add you to my feature page.

Thanks,
Kendra
And I was like:
“Uhhhhh, no. I don’t know how to make one.”

I’m sure she was impressed.
Not

Dang it.
But Kendra’s email challenged me.
I mean….I thought I was fancy when I added the orange background with the swirly stuff.

And dang…….had people not noticed I had three different fonts going on.
YOU HEARD ME RIGHT PEOPLE…THREE.
You don’t even want to know how long it took me to figure that out.
So….with the blog peer pressure weighing heavily…..
I decided to try to figure it out.
I found a ton of tutorials.
And after trying about 747 of them and even having some other persons button showing up on my blog….for a very short time…..
I’m sorry by the way……
I googled away for “simple” instructions and I finally found someone who talked “Doofus”.
She doesn’t even know she speaks my language.
She made it simple and very brief.
She’s good that way.
It just hit me….it may be a boy…..I don’t even know…..
Boy or girl….easy instructions……here on this direct link.
And…..
Gulp.
I now have my OWN bloggy button!
Photobucket
I’M SO EMBARRASSED!
Disclaimer #1: I was really rushing trying to get one to Kendra, so she would think I was cool.
Disclaimer #2: I couldn’t figure out how to do one without a photo
After I emailed it to her, I was so excited to see her return email in my inbox.
I knew she was probably going to be like.
“UNREAL!”
or “YOU’RE SO COOL!”
or“YOU DID THAT SO FAST….YOU ARE SO SMART”
or “YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE BEST BLOGGER IN THE WORLD”
or “I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BETTER BLOGGY BUTTON IN MY LIFE!”
Here was her email.
Hey Rebecca… just put it up on my featured page… It didn’t work at first… so I went into the code and looks like you need to add “http://  part  before  the www and add blogspot.com/” to the end  so  should look like this:

“http://www.youaretalkingtomuch.blogspot.com/” in the code…

I went ahead and changed it on my end so it’s working…  just go into it and add that and see if that takes care of it…

Kendra.

Ugh.…..
I didn’t even get the code right.
I know….I’m a goober.
AND, I know my button looks like I need to lose weight in my face AND brush my teeth.
Not to mention the words that look like dental floss hanging from my incisors.
I will work on it. Promise.
I will  fancy it up soon….but for now…….
Check out Kendra here….
She was so sweet to help me with fine tuning.

Creative Ambitions

If you are still waiting to make a button……follow this great tutorial to make your own bloggy button.
The stepped I missed…..well, it was in there. I just didn’t do it correctly.
Dang it.
And by all means……….

LOVE ME EVEN IF I’M A DORK!
I will work on this…..I promise.
Love,
Me
ps….about the Oikology site…..I took time to browse it today. Good stuff! BTW….It’s a girl!
She has all kinds of tutorials.
I am going to be her new best friend but she doesn’t know it yet…does that matter?

I really like your button. I made a bunch of buttons not too long ago for some other bloggers. It was so fun. I didn’t do the html code for them though. Just the design. I think your button represents who you are, but if you want me to make you one without a pic on my photoshop I will. Just let me know. I love your humor and enjoy visiting your blog! It’s one of my new favs.

Don’t feel bad Rebecca. I’m a pretty new blogger and not only do I not have a bloggy button or know how to make one, I really am not sure what it’s for! That’s why I haven’t made one. Guess I need to Google it!
