Monday giveaway….just because.

It is a beautiful sunny day here in our area……..
Our pool is uncovered and bathing suits are around the corner……
I could cry.
I am NOT ready for a bathing suit.
Two reasons……..
One……..
It hates me……..
It taunts me…….
It feeds me cake when I’m not looking…….
It makes me crave carbs……..
And…..maybe it’s broken or something because it is showing numbers that are like fifteen pounds different than last summer.
Kill me.
In a skirted one piece please.
OMG…..I’m my mother.
Number two issue……….
This is not meant to whine……it is meant to inform.
Healthy tan looking skin all of my teen and adult years…….
Has backfired a tad with the words “melanoma in-situ”……..not going to dwell on this topic but to say the famous last words…..”never thought it would happen to me”.
So……pay attention to why you need to wear spf.
I didn’t.
Loved a tan like the next girl.
And……..
We have to be on “melanoma patrol” now.
Sucky.
But
It has led me to a search.
Why you say?
Is it because I don’t think I look good with fair freckled skin?
Noooooo……
It is much deeper than that!
I am not that shallow ladies!
It is because………
Write this down…….
“Tan fat looks better than white fat.”
I know…..I should shave my head and lead people in a white robe.
Maybe write my own self help books.
These words of wisdom are effortless for me.
Effortless I tell you.
No applause please.
So with the burdensome knowledge I carry….I was on a quest to find the right, safe, self tanning creme.
It is actually tough.
The wrong creme can bring results such as……..
Or……
In my testing process………I’ve achieved both looks.
Until now.
“Thank you shout outs”, to the encouragement of my two “besties”, who have promoted both safe tanning and this product………
And
Didn’t want a Jersey Shore looking, oompa loompa colored, besty.
I am now a happier woman…with friends……and am in LOVE.
With this product.
I’ve tried every kind of self tanner and this product truly is the best with the most realistic “tan” than all the others.
 And
I don’t smell so bad I can’t stand myself when applied.
And
It is a towelette….like a washcloth.
One towelette can do the whole face and body.
And
It dries quickly so I don’t have to walk around naked forever waiting for it to dry.
And
It’s easy.
Sometimes I even follow up with the Tantowel lotion for a little darker approach.
Now…..word of caution.
Watch your ankles….toes….heels….and don’t go crazy with it ……or you could still achieve
[Image: wonka020.jpg]
Especially don’t do that this past weekend….
Because it was a very important weekend to you….
And you felt so chunky that for some reason you thought over applying would take off ten pounds….
Yep….don’t do that.
It will then amplify the ten…..
You could ruin a good thing.
Yes….yes, you can.
But this stuff really, really works when you use it as instructed.
And in honor of bad sun rays and looming bathing suits and broken bathroom scales……….
I would like to give away TWO packs of 5 towelettes.
Fifty dollar value!
For fair to medium skin tones.
It is what gave my skin a healthy glow in this photo……
Don’t worry…..your neck won’t look like that if you do not pose for your photos like a turtle.
I honestly was super white before the this photo.
Only rule on this giveaway…..ends Thursday midnight……….
I have  issues asking someone to be a “follower”.
I do.
I feel weird.
I will “follow” up with that issue……no pun intended, in a later post.
I would love your opinions on that.
If you want to….please do. I love it. It’s easy for me to see who all reads and I can visit you back.
But….no strings attached.
Just fun free stuff again.
TWO packs of towelettes……total of ten towelettes…..$50.00 value…ends Thursday midnight.
Love,
Me

Rebecca, Let me start off by saying REALLY! That is your pool????
Well my back yard REALLY sucks!
I can’t agree more tan fat IS way better than white fat.
I’m a red head so I’m supposed to wear sunscreen.
I’m on my bike from early spring to late fall and still get burned.
    Your giveaway is wonderful!
Don’t include me. I was a winner last time.
Let someone else have a chance to win.
    Thanks, Becky ;~)

Hi Rebecca! Ummm…seriously almost spit my water out of my mouth while I was reading this! I agree that tan fat definitely looks better than white fat and if you want to see some white fat you need to come visit us in the NW….we are as white as Elmer’s glue around here! 🙂 And I have decided that we need to bring back the bathing suits from the 1920’s that pretty much covered you head to toe…maybe I’ll just start wearing wet suits to the pool instead! I read about that product in a magazine and have been wanting to try it myself sometime so I would love to be entered into your contest. Thanks so much!

Well, damn, I can’t tan, and damn- I’m so much heavier than ever! You, my dear, look fabulous!
I just went to Vegas (right, remember) I went to Walmart to get a fat dress bathing suit. OMG, when did I become that woman? Could I, at least have a tan… NO! I won’t bother with self tanners since my mom tried them back in the 70’s and basically was ORANGE for a couple of weeks! I remember trying to desperately rub her down with tomatoes (because she had read that somewhere) and scrubbing until we couldn’t figure out if she was still orange or just red from being rubbed raw. Nope, it was still orange! It had to fade on it’s own! So, I can’t erase that from my memory.

thank goodness Vegas wasn’t too hot, and I avoided wearing the bathing dress. 🙁

I weighed myself this morning and figured the batteries must be low…and malfunctioning, until my husband pointed out there isn’t a battery! Great.

You are too funny. Also, I am seriously jealous of your outside seating area and pool. Here in Southern California it is uber-expensive to buy a new house at the moment. Especially one with a pool. Hopefully we’ll be able to in the future…
I’m Scandinavian = I am not supposed to even be in the sun.
The first year i was here I turned red. I hope the same thing will not repeat itself now after seven years… but you never know.

I don’t have the problem with my legs looking speckly as they say. Mine is my chest and tops of the shoulders. Yech! Don’t know what I’m going to do to cover that all up. Maybe a tent? Anyway, Love your blog! Just wish that we had some nice warm days like you. I live in Snowy, cold, rainy, Minnesota. Maybe by July. Thanks for the laughs!

Oh, Rebecca! Finally the truth has been spoken! White fat IS way uglier than tan fat!!! Thank you for bravely speaking out and letting all of us pale pudgies claim our truth!

Tan fat is better!!!!!!! That is not an opinion…it is empirical fact. Know why I am not looking forward to summer…..my razor has been very lonely this winter……and I’m terrified to wax 😉 + all the other things YOU mentioned!

I’m thinking about promoting the full spf gear khakis and white shirt….claiming it’s because of spf protection and not because I’m trying to hid my cellulite. It may go over better than the wetsuit ; ) love, Me.

Girl… you crack me up with the oompa loompas… but isn’t that the truth!?! So sorry about the melanoma… I just sent the hubs to the doc for some suspicious looking spots but… he checked out OK thankfully… he is really bad about not using sunscreen… However… now I hear bad things about sunscreen linked to cancer… it’s crazy!! OK… so I guess this is my entry for the towelettes… thanks for the giveaway!! I agree with you 100%… pale fat out… tan fat in! But safely!!! 🙂

You are so funny, and you look fabulous to boot. I think my scale feeds me chips when I’m not looking. I live in Seattle so I haven’t seen the sun since August of 2009. Terrified to try self tanners after seeing a mom with 3 young children striped orange at Disneyland 8 years ago.

Rebecca, keep these coming. I love reading your posts. Not only can I not tan, I cant walk now while I am healing. I have a tanning bed at my gym but it is a standing one and I cant do anything at the gym now anyway. I love while I am sitting on my fat white butt, I can laugh with you. Thank you for making it go a little easier for me.

I too love the pool area…beautiful…can’t wait to see your posts about it. And what a handsome couple!! We have started landscaping our yard at the beach cottage……finally!! Got the first palm tree planted last Friday. She’s a Queen palm and appropriately regal looking!! Anyway we are thinking of some sort of sun shelter in that area……no, no pool but only three or four minute walk to beach. I just love being outdoors and need a shady place to relax out there when I’m gardening. I hope you will have some ideas I can steal, I mean borrow of course!! I would love to be tan while I’m sitting in the shade so count me in will you? Thanks for a great giveaway. (I’m still jealous that Becky won my pillow!!) take care, VBg

Tan fat does look so much better than white fat. That’s why I go to the tanning bed, however I would be more than willing to try the tanning towels if your giving them away for free. This is my first time here and I loved it!
