Does it get on your nerves?

Do any of you have one of those friends that are REALLY good at home-based sales?
It takes a special personality type that can bring Mary Kay, Tupperware, Shaklee or other consultant based products up on a daily basis with family and friends…….
And bring these products into your homes……
Your space…..
And not get on yours or your friends…… nerves.

I sometimes feel like building a blog……growing followers……takes that special “sales person” or it can be just as annoying if you are not careful.
Run people off.
Is it just me?
I skip over some linky parties or contests if they are so complicated with “strings”, that it just doesn’t seem worth it.
But I know…….it is probably how you are supposed to do things.
And I am judging blogs with a large amount of followers.
And they are really great blogs.
Maybe I’m a rebel.
Or I’m just too simple to understand the need…..
Because I don’t really care how many followers I have.
I even thought about taking that portion off of my blog.
~GASP~
~SHOCK!~
I know…..that may be stupid…..but hey….it won’t be the first stupid thing I have ever done.
You guys are witnesses to that.
And this is my question?
I am getting ready to redo my blog a bit.
Make it easier to find what you are looking for but with a little more content.
But….before I do, I wanted your thoughts.
For real.
If what really counts is how many “visitors” come to your blog…..
And now it is so easy to subscribe by email to someones blog that you really enjoy……
Why do we sign up as a followers?
Am I missing some perk that I don’t know about?
Are you guys earning free tv’s or cars?
: )
Am I supposed to be giving away free tv’s or cars?
Doesn’t it become just annoying asking for followers if it really doesn’t matter?
I would love to know your thoughts.
Please don’t hold the photos of my little nephew against him……
These are some of my favorites of him being a “pesky little brother”……….
And I thought a perfect example for what I was asking.
; )
Love,
Me

I kind of feel the same way you do about not joining in on link parties or blog hops that are too complicated or ask too much. I also wonder what the whole follower thing is all about, even though I love to see that I have a new follower, I get skeptical that they are actually “following” me. A lot of blogs that I visit everyday, I don’t follow – so what does it all mean? Heck if I know. I’ve been making different people blog headers, if you’re interested, I wouldn’t mind whipping one up for you 🙂

Hope you have a great weekend.

I don’t get the followers thing……some sites if you are a follower you get the posts in email, some you get zippidy doo dah! I’m not into the social networking craze, tried a facebook page at my daughters insistence that I would love it…….hated it, (I know, that’s probably a sin of some sort), all these people wanting to friend me…..if you want to talk, send me an email or call me….does the whole world need to be involved? I think not. Oh well, I’m opinionated but hey, that’s life! Anyway, back to the original thought….does the follower thing have something to do with the networking idea? You can find friends that follow the same sites etc.??? If you or anyone out there knows and would like to clue this ignorant person in I would love that!! Hope you are having a great weekend so far, I’m gone back out to work on the new sod some more…..later. Take care Becky, VBg

If you’d like to give a car or TV away that would be great! But seriously, I never enter any of the contests on any of the many blogs I follow. Instead of having contests and giving stuff away, just keep up the fun things you do! Enjoy that much more.

I like the term “readers” instead of “followers”. Or maybe groupies….that works too! Ooo….can we call them roadies? No? Aw, man!! ;o) I almost always avoid contests because they want you to do too many things for a chance to win. Blogging for me is (supposed to be) all about sharing ideas, inviting others into our space to “see what’s going on” and having fun. This isn’t high school and I don’t need to impress the cheerleaders. Just sayin’. ;o)

Well dear, I am just here to read crazy stories and see what others are doing and to share what I am doing or procrastinating about. I don’t need to feel as though I need to be out there doing giveaways just to get people to read my blog. If you like what you see then follow, if you don’t then I probably won’t miss you.
I pimp my blog on my Facebook page and send it out as a signature in my email do some link parties or giveaways. The giveaways I do one maybe 2 entries. I don’t want to have 1000 blogs to read every day. I am quite happy with the 87 or so that I have.

Cherie, see, I needed to hear from pro’s like you. You have 87 blogs that you follow and read?! Am I understanding that correctly? My concern was……..what advantage do followers bring? What advantage does it bring to be a follower? Clear as mud? ; ) Love, Me

Terry…..your post reminded me of the Taylor Swift song where she is the girl in the band????? What song is that? Just went out of my head…….Anyways….it is supposed to be about sharing and all…..I just wondered where my focus should be. About the contest with too many things I have to do to enter…..I’m probably just so ADHD….they lose me at the first step. Maybe it’s easy for other people……. : ( Love, Me

K….I have to admit I loved watching my followers grow. It was just when I see how many actually read the blog vs. how many follow…..that is when I questioned the importance of having “followers”……..Think I may have been wrong ; ) Love, Me
