And then she rested……

Ok….maybe I won’t really rest because I have a few more things up my sleeve, but DANG people…this has been a productive week!

Remember my pretty Adirondack chairs?

Remember how seeing this sun faded chair and foot rest kept me from relaxing?

That I showed you how I am such a messy stainer and painter?

And what I use to clean up……

Apparently I felt the need to show you this with dirty dishes in my sink……

I am a pig.

 After that post…….this happened.
One chair.
Started Weight Watchers.
If you don’t understand that….

Well, I finished them up yesterday but first I wanted to tell you an issue that came up in case you try this for yourself.

My stain stayed “tacky”.

I was freaking out.

So, I did what we all do and googled the problem.

Someone suggested washing the chair with warm soapy water to remove the excess stain.

I did and it worked.

But here is an important step that I used on the last three chairs.

When you stain……take an old tshirt or rag and wipe away excess stain.

Make sure you use your neighbors claw like, aged, stain covered hand for this shot.

Ok….I lied.

My neighbor has good hands.

Those are mine : (

Please love me with my flaws.

But after learning that……I stained away…….

And this……..

Is now this!

YIPEE!

All together now!

For she’s a jolly good fellow….for she’s a jolly good fellow……or girllow….or female???

Nevermind.

I was bragging and I know better!

Sorry.

Whatcha think?

I will have to do a sit in the chair test with white clothes soon.

I am so afraid someone is going to sit in the chair and stand up with a stained hiney.

I would die.

I would have to pretend I had hired someone to do the chairs and was disgusted with their workmanship.

That would be wrong wouldn’t it?

I would hope they don’t read the blog and know that I did them.

I need to invite someone over for a “white short” test.

Want to volunteer?

I will give you wine and cheese?

What a difference!

My pool furniture is all finished!

Click here if you missed that transition…..

And my Adirondack chairs done this week as well?

If I had a womb I would think this was a “nesting” instinct.

I’m on a roll!

Think I should try the Roman Shades before this week is over?

I’M TOO SCARED!

The sewing machine scares me!

You all read here and here and here….and know that my fears are valid!

Hopefully tomorrow I am going to tell you about my cabana curtains and maybe then I will be so busy telling you about the cabana curtains that I can’t get to the Roman Shades….not because I’m scared but because I will be so busy….

Yeah….that’s why I won’t be able to tackle them.

; )

Maybe.

If I do….you know you will all hear about it.

Let me know your thoughts on the makeover!

Love,

Me

If you know of someone hurting….or they know of someone hurting….please share “Because it is true”. Remember to remind them to encourage my family in their time of grief and not direct the comments to only me. I hope to keep encouraging others and allow my family to see their pain minister to others. Thank you guys! Love, Me

In exchange for wine and cheese, I’d gladly offer my white-shorted hiney to test out your beautiful chairs! They look awesome!

Haha! Loved your comment about the neighbor’s clawlike hand! Hilarious! But those chairs look like they belong on the pool deck at a fancy resort — they are lovely! Thanks for the tip about wiping the stain off too!

Sometimes, when I paint something, if we are in the hot sun, the paint doesn’t do as well and takes forever to dry…the whole process seems better in the shade…..maybe the same with stain?

Beats me…but if anyone gets their butt stained, tell ’em “your hired help” did it. :))) some kind of yellow bar keeps popping over where I am typing and I can’t see or get it off..???

They look great, but best of all I like the stain on your arms! I always have paint & stain all over me when I do a project. No matter how careful I think I’m being. Happy to not be the only one!!!!!

Love the transformation! Did you seal the chairs? I gave my stairs a few days to set before there was no more stickiness to them even after wiping them down.
And you have been a busy girl this week! wish I could say the same thing.
