Now you see it…..now you don’t.
This is what I call…..my invisible end table.
Please ignore the fact that the lamp is too big for the table.
I’ll get to that eventually.
Because the table is so dark….and I have so much wood…..you just don’t see it.
It is where magazines get hidden……I even forget they are there….and it’s where our little lap trays go.
I know, we are like old people with our lap trays.
Just call us the Bundy’s.
But……I decided to make it visible.
Spray paint…..the color of celery…..and my nozzle thingy…..
Equals happiness.
Three coats…..and I almost didn’t distress it……but….it is prettier in the picture.
I really didn’t sand it well enough to get away with not distressing it.
Plus, sliding the “Bundy Family lap trays” in and out may nick it up.
So…distressing won.
Plus, the wipe on, wipe off stain layer……
Then a final coat of Minwax paste…..
AND……
Wah Lah!
$6.00 transformation.
Now you can see it…..
Don’t ya’ think?
Before….not cleaned out and invisible.
Would love to hear your thoughts?
Any pieces laying in your house that you could transform for only $3.00 to $6.00?
Whatcha’ waiting for?
Tell me about it.
Love,
Me

The table looks great…….so much better! Â Your lamp actually looks taller on the white table. Â Eyes playing tricks. Â Â
p.s. Â You sure like that nozzle thingy. Â I’m going to have to get me one of those.
That is very pretty. Love the color and you are getting pretty good at that distressing.
I LOVE it!
The table looks great lighter, it really stands out in the sea of wood you speak of. The distressing and wipe on wipe off stain is a nice touch as well. You did good!! I love the sprayer thingy makes life so much easier.
Rebecca…you are something else. Â When you get your own tv show you will invite me to be on it, won’t you? Â

@0e2106f66b0f28685751bb48459d7ea9:disqus Funny about the lamp, isn’t it? It does in person and the base looks smaller?? I’m counting on you to get a nozzle thingy and tell me about it. It really makes spray painting more appealing. : ) Love, Me
I love it!
You did a masterful job on the table!!!!! And with spray paint no less……..I will have to try that on something soon. Looks so much better in the room now and the color is great!! Good job!! Take care, VBg

That was a great idea to paint it, and the distressing looks great. I didn’t even notice the neat divider sections until the lighter colour highlighted it. It seriously looks great.

Absolutely gorgeous!!
Love the way that table turned out!!
Wow, love the transformation. Cool table too. I haven’t seen one like it before.
Looks awesome!!!
I love the table painted. In fact I just used that same paint in that color too, for outside chairs. Love the color! Even without the distressing, the table painted was an improvement! Great job!
Dear ME,
Are you Mary Englebright by chance. Ha!
I love how you did your table and the hint that you used stain and then wiped off. Soooo much better than that dark wax…it seems to get “stuck”.
I have that red chair in my sunroom.
♥charlotte
I’m new at this…what stain did you use? Can it be any dark stain? This looks comparable to dark wax but cheaper. Is it the same look?
Very nice idea and….I have the SAME chair in my library as you have…the one on the left in beige with the sweet wood trim!!! I actually have two of them….. LOVE the way to finished the table. Amazing what a little paint and stain can do for a piece that plays hide n seek.
