Because It Is True 2
Putting all differences aside.
No matter your opinion of politics.
I would like to introduce you to some very important people.
You need to see their faces.
Read their names.
Because they died for you and for me, this past two months.
Today is not about us…..about hot dogs and hamburgers.
It is so easy to forget.
I would love for my “Because It Is True” series to be my highest read series.
We need to know these men and women. Fathers, sons, daughters, wives, mothers, friends……….
Because while we were blogging about life and living…..
They were fighting……
And dying.
Please meet…………

Please forward out to everyone your know. Let’s watch this post climb. It needs to for the sake of those that gave their lives for our country.
Check out this website: http://militarytimes.com/valor/list.php?yr=2011&mo=4
It puts a name with a face…..and makes it all so real.
Happy Memorial Day friends…….
God Bless America.
Love,Â
Me
Â
You made it very real. Â Good post.
Dear Rebecca, you just made me cry. Some of them are just babies…little boys playing soldier.
My son will turn 18 this month, and enlist shortly after. Although he will be joining the Spanish armed forces (he is Spanish) he will be fighting for freedom nonetheless. I was already proud of him, but now I’m flooded with fear of losing him to his pursuit of freedom for all of us.
May God bless all our boys and girls, and may we never forget:
FREEDOM ISN’T FREE!
I can’t even type very good with these tears in my eyes. I will put a link to your post on my blog, right this minute.
Thank you and GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE…and may we ALWAYS remember that FREEDOM COMES AT A HUGE PRICE.
It is sad to think that in the 21st century, that war is still a part of our lives. Â Heartbreaking to see these faces. Â My heart goes out to their families for theirs is the ultimate sacrifice. Â The fight for freedom comes an unbearable price. Â Thank you for posting this moving tribute to those who gave their life for freedom.
Thank you so much for the poignant reminder of how very personal Memorial Day is meant to be. Â To honor those who have made the greatest sacrifice one can give…so that we may live in freedom. Â Reminds me of the ONE long ago that gave His life that we might live even after this life. Â Tears of gratitude come from my heart as I remember the sacrifice of others and the personal gifts we have been given through these valiant souls. Â Once again, many thanks for reminding us through these photos how much we owe to those who have died for us. Â It’s very humbling to remember…
Thank you for this most touching post. It’s not about picnics, family get togethers or celebrations. We should reverently remember these sacrificing souls and their families. As the daughter and daughter-in-law of Army officers, the grandaughter of veterans, the niece of veterans, I am so proud of our service members and the families who support them. God bless them and God Bless America.
So many hard-working people full of life…. So sad.
It breaks my heart to see the faces and read the names of these men and women who have died fighting for freedom. Bravery takes many forms and love of country strong enough to make men and women, young or old risk their lives for their fellow man is the highest, finest kind of bravery. As I look at each picture I think of the brave families of these men and women and the grief they must endure having their, Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Grandchild, Niece, Nephew, Uncle, Aunt, Grandparent or friend lost in this awful war. They left here full of hope and returned in a flag draped casket. We should all pray to whomever or whatever our Highest Power is that this insanity will soon come to an end. War has taken our young people, our best our brightest, for far too long. I pray for these men and women and all the other lost souls and their families, I am grateful to them as well for making the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. I also thank the Lord each day that I have my husband, a Vietnam War Veteran, here with me.
Thank you for this post Rebecca, it brings this suffering closer to home and reminds us that the
holiday is called “MEMORIAL DAY” for a reason. Thank you and take care, VBg
