Lamp re-do in process

You remember my invisible table post…..don’t ya?

If you don’t… here.

Well, I also have an invisible lamp.

My wood toned house….which I LOVE……sometimes swallows up dark objects.

Like the dark lamp, on top of the dark table, on top of the dark floors.

So, I wondered what would happen if I tried to lighten up things a bit…..

Without buying a new lamp.

This is a lamp “in process”.

I’m not finished yet.

Want to see the before and after….so far?

I painted it using my “Valspar” clearance, never-ending sample.

I STILL have a 1/2 of a little jar left.

These little samples are sooooooo neat!

Especially when you get it on clearance.

Here you go again.

Now you see it…..

Now you don’t.

Whatcha’ think?

I will show you tomorrow how I did it……..after I find the right shade.

Just so you know…..this was not the right shade.

Dang it.

But I still have plans for this pretty green shade.

Like the difference?

The only money will be in what I pay for a shade.

Let’s see what I can find.

Let me know what you think!

Most importantly, I love hearing from you!

I have gotten a step closer in this process since I first posted. Here is part 2 of the transformation:

I love it!! That new color just pops and ties in so well with your window treatments! It makes the details in the lamp base show up so much more too. We always love having you share with us at Inspiration Friday! 🙂

Love the contrast against all the wood. Would a white shade work or would that look too out of place with all the dark?

That does look really nice.  I like that shade of green.  I may be painting a chest that color, I’m still thinking about it.  Thanks for linking it up at Home Sweet Home!
