I have had several people email or comment on how to add the “Pin It” buttons, so I thought I would share what I am learning. I am still new at the “Pin It” stuff.
I was browsing blogs the other day, when I saw several blogs with a “Pin It” button below their photos.
What happens when a reader clicks on the “Pin It” button on this post?
It creates a “pin” at Pinterest, linked to this post, and can bring others back to my blog when they click on that pin. So, that brings activity to my blog.
The pin on Pinterest, well, that can bring new followers on Pinterest when they like or share or re-pin….win/win! Double activity!
Clear as mud?
Here is how you add the pins.
I will try to keep this brief and simple.
* Go to http://www.pinterest.com/
* If you are not logged into your account….log in.
* On the top right of the page you will see the word “About” next to your name. Highlight the word “about” and scroll down to “pin it” button.
* Scroll down the “Pin it” page to: “Pin It†Button for Websites.
~ It is actually pretty easy from there.
~Â It asks:
(What URL comes up when you double click on your image)
Those are the two main things you have to fill out. As you fill them out, you will notice the code at the bottom of this section changing. When you fill out those two blanks, you highlight and copy the code they give you.
* Place that code underneath your photo in the HTML section of your post.
~When you hit publish, the “Pin It” button will appear.
Email me at email@example.com if you have any other questions.
Fiddle around with it.
I am still learning how to do the “pin it” myself and have to put my buttons up AFTER I first publish the post.
There is probably an easier way. Let me know if there is!
I hope this helps direct those who were asking!
Anyone planning on using it?
What about putting the pins under your ETSY items? That seems like it would be a good idea.
They can be put in alot of neat places. Check out the “Pin It” Button section. It will get your wheels turning!
What do you guys think? Ready to try it?
Let me know!
