So we tried Dollywood this morning.
Got there around 10:00 am.
Steady rain and 40’s.
But we were troopers.
I told you that I would put my big girl panties and poncho on and make it fun!
We tried a roller coaster ride as soon as we got there.
We were the only ones on the ride.
We were the only ones in the line.
We were the only ones not at shows and attempting to ride rides.
That should have been our warning.
But we decided to ignore those warnings and try Thunder Road.
By this time….it really started pouring.
I had my poncho, thank goodness.
The boys were too cool to wear the ponchos.
I don’t know why they thought the ponchos weren’t cool.
This photo should have been all the proof they needed with how cool the ponchos looked?
Can you guess which one is me?
What’s not cool about that?
I could breathe.
The strings pulled tightly into a tiny, little circle.
It was our first ride and our last ride before we had to get rain checks from Dollywood.
It was that miserable but hilarious.
We bought this photo when we saw it. We couldn’t stop laughing. I guess it sums up our effort at trying to make it work. The lady even offered it cheaply after seeing it. Score!
By the way….after this ride, and even after seeing this photo, they donned the ponchos.
Dollywood was so sweet and gave rainchecks in exchange for our tickets without a problem.
Thank goodness or I would have drug them to every concert, made them eat cold turkey legs and ride on rides that were on the verge of being shut down.
Sorry for the quality of this photo. I had to take a pic of it with iphone. I forgot to bring my card loader.
I just knew you would enjoy.
We hit a couple of indoor activities in Pigeon Forge and have now called it a day!
The game is tomorrow night at 7:30. If you are watching ESPN….I won’t be wearing my poncho but I will be wearing garnet and black! Go Gamecocks!
Enjoy your Saturday friends!
