No more changes…….

Alrighty then.

The blog changes are over.

During this transformation.

I lost three subscriber friends : (

I lost three Facebook friends : (

I lost three email friends : (

Was it a mutiny of three?

But the changes needed to happen.

They did.

But it still hurt my feelings.

Why did I change the design of my blog?

Main reason.

There was no easy way for you to find old posts.

My buttons at the top of the page…never worked correctly and I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IT.

I’m so embarrassed.

I knew I needed to fix my blog and didn’t know how. I’m truly a dork with that stuff.

I knew if I changed it,  I might lose readers who hate that crap….(like me). We just want to click on a blog, read our hearts out….learn some stuff quickly or be entertained….. and carry on.

I’m shallow like that.

And I knew “change” may sorta’ tick a girl like me off…….

I took that chance.

Because there are others like you that needed it better organized.

I knew it needed to be done.

So, I decided to just bite the bullet and do it.

Ok, I didn’t do it.

I just bit the bullet.

Brooke did it for me. Just plain ‘ole offered to do it. For nothing but a headache.

I can give her a headache! That fit my budget perfectly!

She truly was a blessing.
When I first started blogging what I was using worked.

As my content grew….so did your questions on past posts.

When I would go to try to find an old post to answer your questions….I COULDN’T EVEN FIND IT!

I’m so embarrassed, again……..

I am hoping this will help you…and me…… find the answers you/we need.

Here are the changes.

The top bar underneath the header…..

Sort of self-explanatory, isn’t it?
I am going to go into more detail on the About Me soon. You will learn the secrets of the universe with that post. Hold on people!

I am updating ALL of my past post and labeling them accordingly. Should take a little over a week.

Another helper on the sidebar

Search This Blog

powered by

Do you guys use this? I do on  alot on blogs when I am trying to find a certain topic, that I think I remember a certain blog posting. Works here too….just type in “Milk Paint”, “Spray Paint” etc, etc, etc, yada, yada.
Okee Dokee?
Another new addition on the sidebar.
I was torn about this. I have been asked by people about placing  ads on my blog and have waited to see what I really wanted to do.
I tried the writing ad things but I am not really comfortable and keep clicking on the ignore or not interested button when I am offered a small “reward” to blog about certain topics.
When I did those…..I felt my blog changing. I want to blog about what I want to blog about….
Know what I mean? I know you guys felt it too.
I’m so embarrassed again.
I would rather be choosier.
If I felt I needed to go the sponsor route….then I would rather have ads here that would appeal to you…….periodically tell you about them…and offer you goodies from them.
I liked how this blog was personal.
I know you, you know me, we’re a happy family……..
I want it to stay that way.
Do I need the income….definitely.
Would it help me?
Would it keep me from having to get a second job, which if I did, would keep me from blogging?
So, I would love for this to become my second “job”. One day….when I am 90….maybe even my first job too.
I would love to actively do stuff and tell you guys about it.
I would LOVE for this blog to become that……but to do that……I had to have a better blog.
Not complicated.
Easier to use.
I hope we have done that.
Will it change?
Will I change?
Now I can just get back to what I love doing.
Doing stuff and telling you guys about it.
This is the last big change that I can foresee needing to do.
For all of you that have been with me for awhile.
Thank you for not leaving.
This stuff confuses me and I had NO clue how hard my blog had been to find stuff.
I’m sorry about that too.
Hopefully my stuff is easily accessible now.
Now….If you are not a friend on Facebook or a follower here….I would be honored if you would become one.
If you are in the club of “three” that left. That’s ok. I love you anyways…..
I would love for you all to subscribe to emails to not miss out on any of the good stuff going on.
I have some great giveaways planned.
I think you will love them.
I really do.
I also think you will love the transformations getting ready to take place.
I can’t wait to show you.
For those that have been creeping….you are so like me…..but I want to meet you!
It’s free.
“Like” me on Facebook.
It’s free.
Follow me.
It’s free.
You are why I blog.
The only reason.
And I thank you.
Let me know if there is something specific you need to see and I, ok….(Brooke) will see if it is something we can do.
You guys are the best.

The “New” blog layout looks great! Change is always so hard, but in a week or two no one will notice and things will get back to normal! Or as normal as can be!! 😉 Have a blessed day!!

I love the before and after! There’s nothing wrong with being able to earn a little while doing something you love so much! I love how honest and down to earth you are!

Love your blog. Change is so hard. We want the comfort of the old. It will all turn out fine.

    Thank you!

This blog is wonderful, sweetie! The changes you made are for the best, so we all just need to put on our big girl jeans and go with the flow. Sure, change can be tough, but it is how we learn and grow and sometimes even amaze ourselves….

    Big hugs,

Losing 3 is nothing. They say when you make a big change especially by getting more “commercialized” with ads, you can lose 50% of your followers. So you’ve done good!Don’t sweat it…HAPPY TUESDAY!

Hi! I’ve been following you using “Bloglovin” for a while now. But I just added myself as a follower via your sidebar widget. Darned 3 unfollowers. Who needs em anyway, right? Robyn

OK, I gotta say, I was worried. Worried you were going ‘big time’ on us. You know…commercial. In it for the big bucks and forgetting about us. BUT…now that I’ve read this post, I don’t feel that way. I’m relieved. You are still you! Cuz that’s who we love! So carry on! Carry forward! Carry me back to ol’ Virginny! I’m still here and I KNOW all your GOOD friends are! Cuz, like I said, we loves ya!

I like your clean uncluttered look. Love it when blogs have the fav posts on the sidebar like you have. I do have some trouble viewing your blog on the mobile version though. Some of the words have posted on top of each other. You might want to keep tweaking the mobile version until the text lines up correctly. Miss mustard seed had a similar problem recently. You’re not the only one who has upgraded their blog recently so most readers should just get used to it.

The old blog took so long to load that a lot of times I had to give up. this one pops up right away!

  • November 16, 2011 at 5:48 pm

The blog looks fabulous. Change is hard, but it’s good for you. Keeps us on our toes as they say!

    Your new look is great..
I think all good bloggers would LOVE to make a living at doing it. I know I would….but…it ain’t gonna happen. Everyone has to decide for themselves if they want ads on their blogs or not.

One blogger is asking about what resolutions we are using because it makes a difference in what we see on other blogs….well, and how ours look to others. Mine looks one way to me as I am using the lower resolution, than it does to someone using the higher resolution.
Yours is the large, I think…there’s a bar at the bottom of my screen that I use to get over to all of your sidebar…so, see…it’s all depending on how we all LOOK at things. :))
    Again, your blog looks fantastic.

I like, no love, the new look!! You are my go-to furniture re-doer blogger girl and so the searching ability totally rocks!!! 🙂
