How was your Christmas holiday?
Ours was wonderful and we are still celebrating with different family members.
I have family that came in last night and we are going to celebrate “our” Christmas with them tonight.
We will celebrate our Christmas with Romeo’s family tomorrow night.
I will savor every moment.
And then be relieved.
Yesterday, we had a small reprieve and just sat and watched movies…….I loved it….except for the scary one that had me whispering the Lords Prayer throughout it, it was so creepy. My kids HATE when I do that but I say if they want to watch it, then I will keep the “praise” going out so nothing bad can come in our home. That Baptist in me can’t take it. Wouldn’t I be fun to watch a scary movie with? Romeo thinks it cute but he doesn’t count….he thinks it’s cute when I have spinach stuck to my teeth. I do it so softly no one can hear…….promise….so you can still invite me to the movies. Kk?
I have projects to show you, unbelievable deals I have found. You would NOT believe one lamp! I can’t wait to show you!
But first…while I still have celebrations going on I thought I would share a recap of what all has been going on here this past year. A reminder of all the fun stuff we have done. I even forget. I will break it up into a few posts…and keep it brief. You can click on the link and go back to the original post if you want but I thought it might be a fun way to keep all the new readers up to date and refresh you old timers too.
So here goes.
Jan. through March., just a few posts from each month. Some of your favorites.
Remember my Craigslist curtains and sheers. What a deal!
When I met many of you……I had first found “Miss Mustard Seed” and attempted to copy her curtains….ATTEMPTED. Miss Mustard Seed was sweet enough to mention it on her blog and what a fun time that was……..
How many of you even know what I am holding? Trust me….it all makes sense when you read the post.
I shared my concerns over what to do with a “cloth” napkin……..and I found out I wasn’t the ONLY one in the world not sure of proper etiquette there.
(This photo shared from “The Charm of Home” who tells you how to make these gorgeous napkins.
The post started becoming more frequent after February because it wasn’t just my mom, cousins and sisters reading and well, I LOVED the attention ; )
My first distressed piece of furniture. It has held up wonderfully, by the way! (Remember my old living room set up?)
My “Miss Mustard Seed” curtains were finally finished.
This was my first post where I found out you guys really loved me. YOU TOLD ME THE TRUTH and told me that my project and what I had done, was well…….ugly. CRACKED ME UP and it was truly when I fell in love with blogging.
I shared with you the unbelievable deal I got on the fabric for my breakfast room curtains……a whole bolt….on Craigslist.
Made you guys guess on this “Custom Art Piece”.…….
And I will stop with that….but you know something important that came to me when going through these posts this morning?
Lately, I have felt like I have NOTHING to talk about…….but I have made it too complicated.
We met when I talked to you just like I did my family.
I just shared awesome deals…fun stuff….my heart and it didn’t have to be an “OUTSTANDING” award winner project.
I am going to stop worrying about having to post something big and just start talking again.
Another thing I learned……
You all helped me make my house a home.
I was re-doing my home after a painful divorce. I had been remarried and wanted my home to reflect the wonderful, new beginning. I wanted to make it home again but different than what it was before…..and I had to do it on a tight budget and I really didn’t feel like it.
You all helped me heal.
You all were my inspiration to get out my “painful funk” and make my home a “home” again.
Thank you my friends.
I love you all and I will see you tomorrow with some more recaps and just some chit chat.
I would love to hear how your Christmas went.
And I would love for you all to get to know each other in the comments.
I love when you respond to each other. It makes me happy.
Talk to me, I have missed you all!
