Little red table

Remember my little brown thrift store table that made me move my whole living room?

It’s not brown anymore.

I decided a little “pop” of color may be nice.

And I love it!

From a plain and tired before……

To now!

Such a nice difference isn’t it?

My simple ingredients.

My “front door” red paint sample. Gold leaf paint (my first time ever using that stuff….love it!). Distressing sand paper, stain and paste.

And when I say it is easy.

I really mean it.

It may be my new favorite piece.

The little green container on top of my books is a “yard sale” baking dish. Perfect to hide my memory card loader.

About an hour of time on a thrift store table took this look…….

To this.

Need a pop of color in your living room?

Scare you or do you like it?

I am just a “bunch of junk” in my living room, aren’t I?

Hard to label my style?

I would call it a “yard sale, thrifted, painted over, warmed up look”.

In the picture above, the only two things that were purchased new were the two green pillows from TJ Maxx.

Wow……even I am a little surprised at how it can all come together.

And it has now found it’s home.

Do you like?

See the gold peeping through on the edge of the table?

If you were to decorate with a “pop” of color in your living area, what color would it be?

Is there a fun color calling your name?

I can’t wait to hear from you!

Love,

Me

The red looks great and really picks up the red in the rug. Great way to pull it in. Still love your drapes =)

Love it! I like your whole livingroom and colors, especially the drapes. Where did you get them? Or if you made them where did you get the material? Thanks, Carol Ann

Hello Carol! The drapes were a silent auction purchase over 10 years ago. For a whole $1.00! They actually are starting to fade around the edges a bit and I may be changing them up soon. Pottery Barn does have a similar look though……Thank you for stopping by! Love Me

I love it!!!! You put me to shame, therefore I am inspired!! lol!! I have red paint and a yard sale table that I’ve had for…..well, a LOT longer than you have and the paint is still in the can and the table is still ugly!!

What I love is that the table was kind of invisible before and now it looks like an expensive accessory!! And it blends in yet stands out…if that makes sense!! I’m curious how you used the gold leaf…I like it!!! 🙂

I love your pop of colour. I’m dying to do my settee in something exotic. I’ve worked so hard on rebuilding it, that I’d die if it didn’t work out. Did you just wipe the red and gold over the old finish?

That looks amazing! It’s just enough to be pleasing to the eye and not even realize what in the room made it hop. Really cool.
