Shabby coffee table
So, I have started painting my second batch of furniture for Beaches.
In my first batch, there was one table that was a ho-hummer. BOR-ING. Plain ‘ole, plain ‘ole.
Off-white legs……pine top. Standard coffee table.
I had a tad bit of my paint left, so I watered the paint down and grabbed the coffee table.
Slapped the paint on and distressed it.
I was almost embarrassed to bring it in.
I knew my other pieces would blow this piece out of the water and it would pale in comparison.
I mean….I was downright fancy with some of the stuff I took.
This poor table would look like the “red headed step child”.
It might even make me look “un-professional”.
And dannnnng….. if I didn’t get a text right after we left.
It was the first piece to sell!
Shows how much I know.
It also confirmed my thinking that plain white sells best.
I thought I was going to be able to impress you guys with one of my “fancy pants” pieces selling so fast that crowds formed lines and begged to be placed on waiting lists.
Yep….
Lesson learned!
My tip: If you are waiting to start “flipping” furniture on Craigslist or selling it in a store….
Quit waiting. (I have attached the popular series on my previous tips on how to flip furniture on CL)
AND if you are waiting………
Buy white paint and sand paper and get off your hiney.
It’s that simple. Start there!
Sometimes life is complicated…..because I make it that way.
Love,
Me

My stuff uis the same way–stuff that I think will take months to sell, sells in a day or two. Stuff I think will fly away, I end up bringing back home for “round two.”
Hey! my coffee table looks just like that & i love it!!!
(I used the exact same paint treatment…)
Funny isn’t it though, the stuff I post on my blog that I think is “meh” is the stuff that gets the most response!!
Dang, no kidding on making life complicated!! LOL!!!!! I overthink stuff all the time when really, it could be so simple!! I’m learning…slowly!!! 🙂
The table is downright gorgeous!! So simple and elegant!! You do good work, my dear!! 🙂
Do you have anything for sale currently?
Hello Legally Blonde! Cute name! I do have pieces at Beaches right now, some that I haven’t even blogged about yet and I am preparing a batch her now for the store. Is there anything you are looking for in particular? Love, Me
Sometimes simple is more… I love it!
I love this! It’s funny how some of the simplest projects get the most attention – it turned out great 🙂
I started a new link party just for rustic and shabby chic projects. I would love to have you share this – http://rustic-crafts.com/?p=5569
