What to do with an old spice rack…..
I saw a great idea on Pinterest. Well, actually I thought I had a great idea on my own and my sister reminded me that it was already on Pinterest.
And what was worse…..I had even pinned it on one of my boards and still thought my idea was unique……
Dang it.
What’s up with that?
You know….. like when I thought I had come up with a clever idea because I cut the control top off of old pantyhose and used them like a girdle and thought for sure I would be famous and then I found out that someone else had already invented something just like it and called it Spanx.
Yeah….that’s what it felt like when my sister busted this invention bubble too.
But anyways……
Want to know what to do with an old spice rack?
Ta Dah!
Pretty nifty for nail polish, isn’t it?
I know you are wondering why my hooks are sooooooo obvious, aren’t you? I’m making a point. A lot of these racks have hooks and you can hang them on the back of your cabinet door……closet door…in your closet….anywhere.
You know I like the “Command Hooks”. Remember the command hook secrets? It’s one way you can hang these and it not be a “permanent” fixture.
Guess where mine is hanging?
I found a larger one today for my daughter. It is sooooo neat! It will be a fun transformation. It even opens and closes. Have you seen these at your thrift stores?
Fun way to “up-cycle” outdated spice racks, isn’t it?
The Speckled Dog, who is on my Pinterest board……..and who apparently infiltrated my brain….has an adorable version. You can check it out here. Check out her other posts as well before I try to steal those ideas too. : )
Aren’t these great for polish?
What do you think?
Think you would use?
Be on the lookout. They are always cheap.
Let me know if you think you would use.
Want to buy stock in my company that sells old “control tops” from ruined pantyhose that can be worn as a girdle?
I’m just wondering.
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
Love,
Me
Follow my blog! Email is free and I would love to hang on Facebook. : )

I had done something similar too! Great minds think alike.
None of my spice jars fit in this old wooden spick rack my parents passed along to me. So instead, it’s now hanging in my craft corner and hold some on my sewing necessities!
I have been using one for a prescription rack for about 18yrs. AM & PM racks 🙂 Then in the back hall is the “dawgrack “– neosporin, saline spray,-their-digital thermometer, pepto &oral syringe etc. But I haven’t made ’em purty. 🙁
Love this idea! Now I have to go looking for a spice rack!
