There are times to paint and there are times not to paint.
I mean that.
Like, there are times to paint……..
Look at those pretty legs…….
It enhances them beautifully.
But there are times, when naked is better.
Even scratched, dirty and beat up, this pretty table was a beauty.
I took a medium grit sandpaper block to the top.
I didn’t even remove all of the stain.
I did not concentrate on the edges.
I didn’t strip it.
I just lightly sanded the top. Then I applied Minwax stain….wiped off the excess and rubbed Minwax paste on it after the stain had dried.
All of the design is inlaid. Is that how you would say that? It was an antique table that I found on Craigslist and I knew immediately that there was no way I would paint over the top of this piece.
That tiny touch up to the top brought out the natural beauty of this piece.
CeCe’s paint on the legs enhanced her curves and detail.
And it was one of those times when it was best to paint and NOT to paint.
I loved it.
I wanted to keep this piece but I took her to Beaches instead.
Isn’t she gorgeous?
I am not sure if she has sold yet or not.
I miss her.
She has a sister and I will show her to you soon.
What do you think?
Would you paint over a top like that?
Or is naked better for you as well?
Let me know!
