Cleaning up the pool.

Cleaning up after pollen season is yucky! It has just started to slow down enough on pollen that it is actually worth it to take the time to clean up outside.

The pool cover has come off and so one of the main areas to clean up has been the pool.

It is not there yet but getting there.
Right now it’s just spraying everything off…..with bleach and fresh plants here and there.

I transplanted these $7.00 Boston ferns today. They are much nicer in the brown plastic pots than the black smaller ones they came in. It will give them more room to grow and make them much larger. I also planted the tall “grass like” plant in the bottom pot in the center and some colorful plants that will thicken and become much larger, for a little pop of color here in this little “jacuzzi” corner. (sorry I didn’t think to get the real names of the plants!)

These are inexpensive “no name” plants that will thicken and give height and color.

I’m not satisfied with my planter boxes that are at the stair end of the pool but know that I will eventually decide what I want.

But these few steps have brought the winter dreariness look to a fresher, cleaner look.

Want to stop by?

Anyone know if I can “spray” paint the plastic “mesh like” covering on my green chairs?
I have thought about doing that…….

It would stretch the life of my chairs out a tad bit longer and be cheaper than having new covers added.

Anyone know?

Anyone care?

Anyone else starting to clean up your outside area’s yet?

I had a few of you tell me that you are still experiencing snow days…..

I’m envious/thankful/grateful that I do/don’t experience snow days after Easter.

Can you tell I have mixed emotions on snow days?

What about you?

Ready for summer?

I have been missing you guys !

Talk to me!

: )

Pollen here is still to thick to pull out the patio furniture! 🙁 Have started the plants and flowers though. We got a jump start on our pool(above ground, sorta…part is buried in the slope of the back yard)this year. Hoping to be able to get it all done in the next week!

I took a week off of work last week to get some much needed things done in my home. Our backyard herb/flower garden or as we call the “secret garden” was one of the things on my list that I tackled. I live in Southern California and the weather has been in the high 70s. I pulled weeds and planted some new flowers. Your pool space is awesome, your pics make me want to go swimming 🙂

Pollen covering everything, especially the pool, is not fun.
Your ferns look fantastic- I can keep them until the first of June before they burn up. This year a lot earlier i think. It’s so hot!
I’d paint those chairs. Paint can fix anything. 😉

Looks great. I am wondering if fabric paint is the way to go on the green chairs. It is available in spray paint. I have never used it, but I have looked it up a time or two.

If I’ve learned anything from reading all the blogs I do, it’s that you can paint ANYTHING! So….do it and make a post out of it!!!

I wouldn’t paint them…I’d be scared that the sun would sort of make them tacky all the time and then when people would sit on them they would get that “hot exposed thigh on leather” feel.

Looks so inviting! I love your home and pool area! You should have a party and have us all over! 🙂
