If you linked up at this weeks Meet Me Monday party you were sent an email that I would be revealing a new paint that I have been doing a few pieces with.
If you haven’t linked up yet, it’s not too late! Head over there!
In the mean time let me share a new look…….
Don’t be shocked.
I have never painted in black before.
Want to know something else I have never-ever-ever done before?
I’M IN LOVE AND I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT!!!!!
Does the black freak you out too much?
I am going to be carrying some pieces in a friends Salon and I believe this look will work well with her clients.
I’m all edgy and funky and cool now.
In my head.
Can you believe the knobs on this dresser?
They are HEE-UGE. Here, compare them to glass knobs from Anthropologie.
The Anthro knob facing in same direction is like 1/6 of the size.
I can’t figure them out. They are solid glass or crystal and I believe they are door knobs.
I priced them. The knobs alone would be worth over $200.00 if they are door knobs.
I am about 99.999999 percent sure they are.
It appears they were cut in half and used as pulls.
They were filthy when I found this dresser and I had no clue how gorgeous until I cleaned the grime off.
I am donating this dresser for an auction to benefit my cousins ministry in the Ukraine.
Want to know something?
I battled donating the knobs.
Isn’t that awful?
I wanted to replace the valuable knobs with my Anthro knobs. I have went back and forth and even contemplated donating another piece because I was so in love with the knobs.
Until this verse was laid on my heart.
I didn’t find that word in scripture. That was Rebecca-ology.
But you know what?
My heart changed.
I was holding onto knobs?
I let it go and you know what…..I’m excited!
I’m also excited about my new paint.
But about the paint…..
I want to do two more pieces this week before I share what paint I’m using.
You have seen it now.
What do you think?
Like the black?
Know what kind of paint?
No priming. No odor. No VOC.
I have used one quart and completed four dressers.
The price is a third of the price of clay and chalk paints.
Sound good? I want to test a few more things out before I brag on it too much.
Let me ask you this.
Would it be hideous, greedy, selfish if I was the highest bidder on this item at the auction and left with my own dresser?
Am I still struggling?
Crap. Double crap.
Should I not say crap?
Help me people!
What do you think of the black dresser and my filthy heart?
I sorta, kinda, maybe want to know what you have to say.
