Corn on the cob in the microwave! Mess Free!

Yesterday, as I was picking out my corn on the cob… Walmart…… a gentleman was painstakingly picking out his cobs.

He made sure to tell me how to pick out the right ears…what had dried out too much, how to feel your corn…..he was sort of creeping me out…..

So, I began to tune him out but kept politely answering…….

To be honest…..I just wanted my corn people.

But upon leaving…he said….”You should try it in the microwave. You can pop it in with the husk on and it’s perfect and mess free”.

I half listened…….

But today when I was running out of time to get lunch prepared……I remembered his “ramble”.

So, I tried it……..

Corn on the cob with a husk on 1

Creepy Walmart man…….GENIUS!

Here, I can prove it!

Hi Rebecca! I have never cooked corn this way but I’ll give it a try! We grew corn this year but the rain ruined it! I guess I’ll have to buy some at Walmart, too. By the way, I love your haircut!

WOW! If this works so well, bye bye pot of water steaming up the kitchen… because we’ve been eating a LOT of Corn lately! Thanks for the short tutorial!

I have tried it and it does work. No more hot pots of water. My friend does this all the time too.

Every week we pick up fresh corn from the Farmer’s Market. Boiling it in water heats up the kitchen so much! This sounds like a great way to cook it without all the heat! I am going to try it next time we have corn!

Yes Ma’am…we always do ours that way, and the man at Wallyworld may have been my sweet spouse :^) He loves to visit with people and if the word CORN comes up in a conversation of ANY sort, he will tell them how “he” prepares corn on the cob. It is hilarious except when I am trying to herd him through the grocery store!!
    Great post!!
